Beer festival - Here in Welly!

The BrewNZ event kicks off for its 4th year on Thursday 28th with the NZ Beer Awards dinner, where the winners of (x) categories will be awarded for a total of 161 entered beers.

161 NZ beers…161 beers! Go on name as many as you can, got 18? Maybe 20? 30 tops I’ll bet. It just shows how we are blanketed by commercialism. Well here’s a golden chance to strike back at those sad adverts and dated billboards of chemical beers and go out there and sample what quality NZ beers really has to offer.

Down a crafty ale - it's now a fine art


Eight hundred litres of Christchurch Arts Festival Red Ale went into production on Wednesday. Dicky Fife, Dux de Lux Brewery operations manager, knows it's a gamble trying to produce a drink designed to appeal to an arteratti more used to sipping Bordeaux than beer.
