Drought adds to pressure on beer price
Australian malt supplier David Cryer, of Cryer Malt, who sources barley from Australia, Germany and Britain, said grain prices had jumped 30 per cent.
“We just had a big price rise out of Germany, I’m expecting one from Britain shortly and with the Australian crop, new pricing comes in about March next year, and it is looking like that will be up in the order of 20-30 per cent as well,” he said.
